My name Aldea LaParr and I am the very proud mother of three boys. My other passion is learning as much as I can about computers. Computers have opened so many doors for me. I was born with Cerebral Palsy and find it difficult to write with a pen or pencil. With the computer I not only am able to write legibly, I've used it as a tool to express my creativity. I started by creating posters, flyers, and other desktop publishing items for friends and family. As I got more comfortable on the internet I explored websites and how they were created. I soon discovered that I could build my own website with some tools that I found on the internet. I then built a website for a friend who owned a local bakery. She received many comments about her website and then my passion turned into a part-time home based business. Being home while my children were young was the best of both world's. My oldest is now 14 and has taught himself computer animation. With websites becoming more high tech, we are able to work together to create many components that customers want. The computer has also opened the door for me as an Advocate for people with disabilities. I am presently a member of New York State's Developmental Disabilities Planning Council and the Chairperson of the Consumer Caucus. I also now work part-time outside of my home at Northern Regional Center for Independent Living.
